-Girls total of 40 shots in 1 hr 15 min
-You will be given sighter cards that are not counted in the competition.

So as you notice, our trainings are no longer fixed on Wednesdays and Fridays.

For those going China trip please note:
There will be a compulsory briefing on Mon, 15/11 at 6.30pm at C1-2.
Please also bring a photocopy of your passport on Monday.

HELLO PEOPLE!

It's been a while since we've had training... And now that promos are out of the way, it's back to the range people :D

Here's the schedule for this term :)

Please note that the training on 13 October at 5pm is important and don't be late because there will be a briefing on China trip!!

Which brings me to the next announcement!

As we know, there is a year end trip for shooting every year!

DETAILS:

Date: 27 Nov - 9 Dec

Destination: Wuhu, Anhui, China

Cost: $2680 (inclusive of all flight tickets, taxes, food, accomodation, training)

BUT,

All Singaporeans will get 40% subsidy: final cost - $1608

Further 20% - 80% subsidies can be given out depending on the family income levels.

Students may also use their Edusave funds.

Students who wish to be in the school team next year should go on this trip, preferably 4 students per team.

By 15th Oct, students going for the trip should submit their consent forms and 50% deposit by cheque/cash.

Interested students can already start getting permission from their parents, and collect the forms on Wednesday as Ms Fau needs to confirm China trip participants by 15 Oct 2010.

One Last Word.... Well Maybe a Few Words...

I’m guessing, that this is gonna be my last post. The blogadmins have the honour of stepping down last it seems.

To all those JC2s and JC1.5s out there, its been a really fleeting 12 months. 12 months of sharing, 12 months of blood sweat and tears, and more importantly, 12 months of our lives that I daresay we will look back upon fondly. For the Max, Bjorn and I, it was great fun serving all of u, whether it was during the time we were designing the CCA shirt (hail max for the back design, JC3 Samuel for the front, and Bjorn for piecing it together, forgive me for not in contributing) or just simple training reminders, it’s been our pleasure.

To the JC1s, there is little I can say lol. As far as you all knew the blog was just another dead site. Well it wasn’t always like that. If you take a look at the older posts the blog was once very much alive. Anyway, while the time we JC2s could spend with you all was a mere 3 weeks, we (I for one) really did enjoy it. It is with gratitude that I thank all of u for giving this chapter of our lives a meaningful end. We urge all of u to work hard and seek improvement through the guidance of the coaches, and nevertheless hope that what little skills we were able to impart to you all have been useful. The JC2s have expectations of all of you~

Lastly, we JC2s just want to thank you guys for tolerating with the our supposedly-tough training schedule. Though it has been tough, it is important to get you guys disciplined and mentally strong as that is what shooting is all about. Seroiusly PT should be way more hellish than that. And give your full support and respect for your new excos! I am sure they will do a great job in bringing shooting to unbelievable heights:)

Dearest Shooters... Ok here's how it is:

After the orientation, the teams were busy with the NTU invitational shoot. Hence, no CCA for a whole week.
On the 10th march, shooting club will be hosting China Scholars. Hence, there will be no training on that day. 12th march is a day off cuz of the seniors' excellent performance. There is no training during the march holidays. On term 2 week 1, the JC2s will be at war (March Block Test).

Hence, JC1 traning only starts on term 2 week 2 (yet to be confirmed).

We regret to inform any JC1s who visit this blog that this cca-less boring life will drag on for a bit. Still, the seniors look forward to seeing u all soon. Enjoy your halcyon days.

2009 was a great year for us. For those of the 09 batch, it meant new freinds, new dreams and of course new challenges.

The J1s now owns the house! (sort of...) And the exco is fast to move. New duties have been assigned and training was as smooth as before (it seems). Soon it seems things will more or less settle down. Then the real action begins.

Dear shooters,

In the light of the global Influenza A (H1N1 flu) outbreak, the alert level in Singapore has been raised to ORANGE.

Here're the things you would need to do during this period.

1) Take your temperature before coming to school.

2) If your temperature is 38.1^oC and above, do NOT come to school but go and see a doctor, and inform your teacher.

3) Practise GOOD hygiene. Keep yourself clean. Wash your hands with hand-soap thoroughly before meals. Wash hands before handling weapons.

Take care... and together we will do our best to keep our country (and MJC Shooting) safe for everyone.

Shooting Competitions

Dear Shooters,

Just a note regarding the various competitions that we have participated in:

1) NTU Invitational Shoot (Open Category)

Special commendation goes out to Samuel and Siti Sofiah for their participation in this Invitational. Considering that this is their first time shooting and competing in SAFRA Yishun, and competing alongside Singapore's National Shooters no less, they fared very well indeed. So, congratulations!

2) HomeTeam NS Inter-School Shooting Competition

Our college team did very well indeed, with them winning the HomeTeam Challenge Trophy (JC Category), for top performance from all our teams and individuals.

The breakdown of the results:

Boys Pistol

- Team 1st

- Individual 2nd (Farshad)

- Individual 3rd (Jackson)

Girls Pistol

- Team 2nd

- Individual 2nd (Dina)

Boys Rifle

- Team 3rd

Well done Meridian Shooters! May this spur the teams to do better for A Divisions.

3) National Inter-School Shooting Championships (A Divisions)

2nd April - Air Girls Pistol and Air Girls Rifle

UPDATE!

Please choose between the 3 different non-branded T-Shirt designs.
Also, take note on which format you would like the Club Crest and shooters to be (the 2 purple images).

1. Change the non-branded shirt colour.

To be decided.

2. Font for the branded tee,doesnt seem so readable.

Its an ambigram.

3. Removing "shoot here".

To be decided.

4. Remove guy's tie.

Done.

5. Everywhere and anywhere the word 'shooting' appears, can we please have...

6. replace the 'shoot me' target with our club crest and our motto - 'Grace Under Pressure'.

These are the designs in different colours and styles. I'm assuming they're picking a nike shirt base though (branded).

I'm not sure.. people may have issues with the 'shoot here' (girls?).

Additionally, based on (my little) experience, I have to say, good job with the designs, but the designs need to be much larger when submitting for printing.

So in all, comments away in the tagboard; and please, no harsh criticism or whatnot.

I intend to start a story-like scenario where you write about you as a character through a journey, preferably a shooting-based one. Let's see how it works out, okay? Hope i get some inspiration somewhere, else you can diss my suggestion and ability. (:

i've got an idea

It's just something that came to my mind during CCA orientation. I was like hey, photography club uses the same verb as we do in shooting club - "shoot"! But of course we shoot cards and they shoot anything (how lethal can a camera be?!).

So maybe i was just thinking if one day we could like have inter-CCA exchange and we share each other's skills it might turn out pretty fun! (I admit, i do have an interest in photography as well :P)

Well, Valentines' day is coming up real soon, hope everyone got their friends something! xD

After months of procrastination (and of course, months after SOMEONE deleted the old blog), i have spent some time making a new blogskin with "~~sleek~~ simple" as a factor.
